We have a custom Purchase Order form in our Oracle EBS R12. We would like to add one button to that form and on clicking that button, it should execute an .exe file on the local desktop machine.

All our users are using a third party product and whose client is installed on a particular directory location on all the users Desktop. We need to launch that application by executing the .exe file on the local machine from Oracle EBS PO Form.

Please let me know the way to execute a file on the local desktop from Oracle EBS forms.

Thanks,
Ram.

Research use of Webutil's CLIENT_INFO; maybe that's what you are looking for.

We tried using CLIENT_HOST but still I think it is looking at the server's directory but not the directory on the local desktop.

Shouldn't have. HOST executes files on a server, CLIENT_HOST on a client computer.
